Praise the Lord. Someone took time out of their busy schedule to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with me. Not only that but then took the time to DISCIPLE me. In 2023, when I first traveled to Uganda I became so excited when a lady, Lydia, joyously accepted the salvation message of Jesus Christ. I was so happy I told one of my best friends the news to which he responded, “wonderful, now you MUST disciple her.” That moment is when the Great Commission from Jesus in Matthew 28:19-20 hit me full frontal.

Seeing how the Holy Spirit convicts someone is truly a miracle of faith. However, my true joy is seeing how new believers are discipled and taught to follow God’s word and tell others is when a true passion for Gospel in Action took hold. Through mentoring, Bible study, prayer, and providing basic living essentials the whole umbrella of discipleship has been on display in my life since that moment. That’s why my part of Gospel in Action Missions is to best enable those who want to make the travel to Uganda as easy as possible in addition to partnering with area churches who may not be able to grow but can assist them in making connections with fellow Christians in Uganda who already have boots on the ground.

The first lesson is to always approach our God in prayer for guidance and clarity of His mission. When the Holy Spirit convicts us to act in a manner outside of our comfort zone we have TWO questions we must each answer:

1) Who should I follow?
2) Who/what should I fear?

It is my prayer that you first pray to God for His guidance of how to best support the Great Commission through this ministry, then pray and tell someone else. Because when two or more are gathered in the name of Jesus there his Holy Spirit will be. Then have the courage to act, knowing that our Lord will protect and guide you.
